Sap Co Consultant

• Extensive SAP S/4HANA Finance & Controlling expert with hands-on solution design, configuration, testing and deployment experience; preferably with an accounts/finance and cost/management accounting background.
• Strong, demonstrable expertise in CO sub-modules: CO-CCA (Cost Center Accounting), CO-PCA (Profit Center Accounting), CO-PC (Product Costing) product cost planning, standard cost estimates, cost estimate with/without quantity structure, mixed costing, variance analysis, WIP calculation, and settlement — Material Ledger (ML) and Actual Costing — multi-level actual costing run, periodic unit price, alternative valuation runs, parallel currencies/valuations — along with Profitability Analysis (CO-PA — costing-based and/or account-based), Internal Orders, and Overhead Cost Controlling, alongside FI-GL, FI-AR, FI-AP, Asset Accounting and ICMR.
• Proven, hands-on experience configuring Controlling building blocks end-to-end: cost element/cost center hierarchies, activity types and planning, allocation cycles (assessment/distribution), costing sheets, cost component structures, Material Ledger activation and actual costing configuration, and profitability reporting structures.
• Full lifecycle exposure to Product Costing and Material Ledger solutions — from requirement gathering and design (blueprinting/fit-gap), through configuration, unit/integration/UAT testing, cutover, and post-go-live deployment support.
• Ability to mentor and manage multiple teams and projects, with CO, Product Costing, and Material Ledger design ownership across workstreams.
• Participate in design discussions, providing deep expertise on SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling capabilities (e.g., universal journal-based CO-FI real-time integration, margin analysis, Material Ledger as the valuation backbone in S/4HANA).
• Work with business/controlling users to understand requirements and propose alternative design solutions for cost allocation, product costing, inventory valuation, and profitability reporting.
• Develop a collaborative, cohesive team culture with a “One Team” mindset.
• Hands-on experience in Finance, Controlling and management accounting processes, with the ability to translate accounting requirements into system configuration.
• Hands-on experience across S/4HANA Finance features with ability to design, develop, configure and test integrations between CO/Product Costing/Material Ledger and other modules — MM/SD/PS/PP/PM/IM — particularly cost flows from procurement, production, and project systems into Controlling and inventory valuation objects.
• Knowledge of CFIN, and understanding of the elimination of ETL tools to enable real-time transactional-level matching.
• Understanding of AIF, field value mapping, centralized transaction processing, payments, intercompany reconciliation, and group consolidation using S/4HANA Group Reporting.
• Hands-on experience in S/4HANA Intercompany Matching and Reconciliation (ICMR), backed by a solid accounting, finance, and controlling background.
• Demonstrated functional experience in Intercompany Reconciliation processes in SAP.
• Knowledge and experience implementing SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting is an added advantage.

Preferred Knowledge

• Hands-on, configuration-level knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling, including Product Costing and Material Ledger, other integration workstreams, CFIN, and ICMR, with the ability to drive projects through full design-configure-test-deploy cycles.
• Understanding of different project delivery methodologies, especially Agile and Scrum frameworks, applied to CO, Product Costing, and Material Ledger design and testing cycles.

Preferred Skill

• Hands-on configuration and design experience in SAP S/4HANA Finance, with demonstrable depth in Controlling (CO), Product Costing, and Material Ledger design, configuration and testing.
• Familiarity with onsite/offshore delivery models and hands-on experience across system landscape environments (e.g., Dev/QA/Prod, transport management for CO/Product Costing/ML configuration).
• Familiarity with Implementation, Support, Rollout, and Training delivery models — including testing phases specific to Product Costing and Material Ledger (cost estimate testing, actual costing run validation, integration testing across MM/SD/PP, UAT, and cutover/deployment support).
• Familiarity with role matrix/role testing and ability to assist technical team members on CO/Product Costing/ML-related developments (reports, BAdIs, enhancements).
• Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile approaches to software/configuration delivery.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ownership and commitment, flexible timings.
• Expertise in JIRA and Agile delivery model.

Professional and Educational Background

• Senior Associate — 5-9 years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience in SAP S/4HANA Finance with a strong Controlling, Product Costing and Material Ledger component, with a minimum of 2 end-to-end implementations involving CO/PC/ML design, configuration, testing and deployment.
• Any graduation degree, any post-graduation degree; CA/ICWA preferred.
