JOB TITLE: SAP CAPM DEVELOPMENT
LOCATION: Gurugram
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a skilled SAP CAPM Developer to design, develop, enhance, and deploy cloud-native business
applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) using the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP). The
role involves end-to-end development across data modeling, services, security, integrations, SAPUI5/Fiori user
interfaces, testing, deployment, and production support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop enterprise applications using SAP CAP with Node.js and/or Java.
- Create CDS data models, entities, associations, compositions, annotations, services, and projections.
- Develop OData V4 services and implement custom service handlers, validations, actions, and business logic.
- Build and integrate SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 applications with CAP services and OData APIs.
- Implement role-based access control and application security using SAP Authorization and Trust Management
Service (XSUAA) and related BTP security services.
- Configure and consume SAP BTP destinations, connectivity, and external APIs for system integrations.
- Work with SAP HANA Cloud for persistence, including schema design, deployment, queries, and performance
considerations.
- Develop reusable application services and maintain clean, modular, and scalable project structures.
- Create and maintain CAP configuration files including package.json, mta.yaml, xs-security.json, and
application routing configuration.
- Deploy CAP applications to SAP BTP Cloud Foundry and troubleshoot build, deployment, service binding,
routing, and runtime issues.
- Write unit/integration tests and perform debugging, error handling, logging, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, UI5/Fiori developers, architects, and business stakeholders to
translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, estimation, sprint planning, and production support
activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience developing applications using SAP CAP and SAP BTP.
- Strong understanding of CDS modeling, OData services, Node.js/Java, and SAP HANA Cloud.
- Practical experience with SAPUI5/Fiori and integration of front-end applications with CAP services.
- Experience with Git, npm, application configuration, debugging, and cloud deployment.
- Good understanding of REST/OData APIs, authentication, authorization, and enterprise application security.
PREFERRED / GOOD-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- SAP S/4HANA integration experience.
- Experience with Fiori Elements and SAP Fiori tools.
- Knowledge of SAP Event Mesh, Integration Suite, or messaging patterns.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated application deployment.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and API testing tools.
- Understanding of SAP BTP architecture and cloud-native application design.
- Experience supporting applications across development, test, and production environments.
TYPICAL PROJECT ACTIVITIES
- Analyze functional requirements and convert them into CAP technical designs.
- Design CDS models and expose business data through secure OData services.
- Implement business logic in service handlers and reusable modules.
- Develop Fiori/UI5 screens and connect them to CAP services.
- Configure security, destinations, service instances, bindings, and deployment descriptors.
- Build and deploy the application using MBT/MTA to SAP BTP Cloud Foundry.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, defect resolution, and production support.
- Prepare technical documentation and participate in Agile ceremonies and peer reviews.
