Job Summary

As a Senior Consultant - Software Asset Management (SAM), you will lead end-to-end SAM engagements, helping enterprise customers optimize software spend, strengthen license compliance and audit readiness, and build effective software governance. You ll work closely with CIO, IT, Procurement and Finance stakeholders, combining licensing expertise, data insights and commercial understanding to deliver measurable customer outcomes. Experience with IBM or SAP licensing will be a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAM engagements covering scoping, assessment, Effective License Position (ELP) baselining, governance, optimisation recommendations and client-ready deliverables.
• Develop licensing and renewal strategies across major publishers such as IBM, SAP, Microsoft, Oracle and Red Hat, supporting optimisation, renewal planning and commercial negotiations.
• Identify software savings and compliance opportunities through license right-sizing, re-harvesting, application rationalisation, deployment analysis and assessment of cloud and Bring Your Own License (BYOL) rights.
• Partner with senior customer stakeholders to lead workshops, steering committees and QBRs, translating complex licensing and usage data into clear recommendations, roadmaps and business cases.
• Support account growth through customer discussions, proposals and RFPs while guiding consultants, reviewing deliverables and helping strengthen reusable SAM practices and standards.

Requirements

• Strong experience delivering Software Asset Management, licensing or IT advisory engagements, including ELP analysis, license optimisation, compliance assessments and/or publisher renewals.
• Strong licensing knowledge across major software publishers, with IBM and/or SAP expertise highly valued and knowledge of SaaS and cloud licensing models.
• Practical experience with SAM platforms such as ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera or Snow, combined with strong Excel and software data analysis capabilities.
• Strong customer-facing, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging senior business, technology, procurement and finance stakeholders.
• Ability to turn complex entitlement, inventory, usage and contractual data into clear insights, optimisation opportunities, compliance actions and executive-level recommendations.
