Salesforce Functional Solution Lead

Role Overview

Were looking for an experienced Salesforce Lead. In this role, youll lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale Salesforce solutions that improve how our clients customers and employees experience technology-while delivering measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Delivery

• Lead end-to-end design and implementation of Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and other Salesforce platforms
• Gather and translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical architectures
• Design and implement integrations with CRM, enterprise systems, and third-party applications using REST APIs, Connected Apps, and middleware
• Architect solutions using Custom Metadata Types, Custom Settings, Asynchronous Apex, and other platform capabilities
• Ensure solutions adhere to Salesforce best practices, governor limits, and security standards

Development & Technical Leadership

• Develop and optimise Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Aura Framework components
• Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces aligned with Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS)
• Implement robust error logging, monitoring, and automation workflows using Salesforce Flows and platform tools
• Manage data migration, schema updates, and bulk operations using Data Loader and related tools
• Support backup, recovery, and data governance initiatives

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

• Engage clients to scope requirements, propose solutions, and drive technical discussions
• Partner with Business Analysts, QA teams, architects, and operations teams to ensure quality delivery
• Facilitate agile sprint cycles, including requirements analysis, technical workflow mapping, and user story development
• Provide clear, benefit-led communication to clients and internal stakeholders
• Contribute to pre-sales activities, solution proposals, and business case development

Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Mentor and guide Salesforce developers and consultants, providing coaching on best practices and implementation approaches
• Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards and code coverage requirements
• Drive continuous improvement through reusable assets, frameworks, and internal capability building
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment that values diverse perspectives and ideas

Quality Assurance & Governance

• Troubleshoot complex issues across Salesforce configurations, integrations, and cloud services
• Drive SIT/UAT activities, ensure solution quality, and support go-live and hypercare phases
• Ensure implementations align with client technology standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain up-to-date documentation, runbooks, and technical specifications

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Experience

• 8+ years of hands-on Salesforce development and solution delivery experience
• 3+ years in a lead or senior technical role, with proven leadership responsibility for complex Salesforce projects or portfolios
• Demonstrated experience delivering Salesforce solutions in public sector, healthcare, financial services, or commercial environments
• Strong track record in public sector or government projects is highly advantageous
• Experience with Experience Cloud (community portals, customer engagement platforms)
• Hands-on experience with data migration, org migration, and metadata management using SFDX, ANT, or similar tools

• Salesforce Platform: Apex, Triggers, LWC, Aura Framework, Visualforce, SOQL, SOSL
• Integration: REST APIs, SOAP, Connected Apps, Named Credentials, External Objects
• Automation: Salesforce Flows, Process Builder, Workflow Rules
• Security & Governance: Role hierarchies, sharing rules, profiles, permission sets, field-level security
• Data Management: Data Loader, schema design, data migration, backup/recovery tools
• Development Tools: SFDX, Git, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, sandboxes, change sets, managed packages
• Agile Methodologies: Sprint planning, user story development, backlog management
