About a minute. You'll make an account on the way through.

    About this role

Location: HSR Layout, Bangalore — work from office, 4 days a week.

Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of a full-time offer (PPO) based on performance.

    Stipend: Competitive, based on experience.

    Start date: Immediate.

    About OLake

OLake is the fastest open-source tool for replicating data from databases and streams — Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle, Kafka, S3, and more — into Apache Iceberg data lakes, built by Datazip. Beyond ingestion, OLake Fusion handles ongoing Iceberg table maintenance and optimization — compaction, clustering, and catalog upkeep — so the tables we help create stay fast and cost-efficient to query. We're building the tooling that data and platform teams rely on to move and manage data reliably at scale, and we're backed by a growing open-source community of developers and data engineers worldwide.

We're a small, fast-moving team based out of HSR Layout, Bangalore, and we're looking for a Sales & GTM Intern who wants real ownership, direct exposure to founders, and a front-row seat to building a B2B, open-source-led GTM motion from the ground up. Our buyers are engineers and data platform teams, so this is developer-first selling — you'll need to genuinely understand what OLake does and speak credibly to a technical audience, not just work off a script.

    What You'll Do

    • Prospect & qualify — Research and build lists of target companies and data/platform teams that fit our ideal customer profile.
    • Outreach — Run outbound outreach over email and LinkedIn, and engage with our developer community on GitHub, Slack, and Discord.
    • Qualify inbound — Triage and qualify inbound leads from our website, GitHub, and community sign-ups, and route them appropriately.
    • Book demos — Coordinate and schedule product demos and discovery calls for the sales team, and help with pre-call research.
    • CRM hygiene — Keep our CRM (HubSpot or equivalent) accurate and up to date — lead status, deal stages, notes, and follow-up dates.
    • Pipeline support — Chase follow-ups, help coordinate proposals and contract logistics, and keep deals moving through the funnel.
    • Content distribution — Distribute our technical content (blogs, release notes, comparisons, benchmarks) across the channels our buyers actually read — Hacker News, Reddit, dev Twitter/X, LinkedIn, relevant newsletters, and GitHub Discussions — and track what lands.
    • GTM support — Track competitors, contribute to campaign and launch support, and relay customer/community feedback to product and marketing.
    • Report on metrics — Share a weekly report on outreach volume, response rates, meetings booked, content distribution reach, and pipeline movement

    What We're Looking For

    • Technical foundation — A strong technical background, or a clear, demonstrated inclination to become technical — comfortable reading docs, following along with SQL/databases, Kafka, or data pipelines, and picking up enough to hold a credible conversation with an engineer. This isn't optional: our buyers are developers, and non-technical outreach won't land.
    • Preferably a background in Computer Science, Data/IT, or a related technical degree — currently pursuing or recently completed. Non-CS backgrounds with real hands-on technical exposure (personal projects, open-source contributions, a technical internship) are also welcome.
    • Some prior exposure to B2B SaaS sales, GTM, or a startup environment — through an internship, a project, or coursework.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable picking up the phone, sending a cold email, or posting in a technical forum.
    • Genuine curiosity about data infrastructure, data lakes/lakehouses, and developer tools — this should feel interesting to you, not just a job.
    • Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) is a plus, not a requirement.
    • A self-starter who's organized, takes ownership, and is comfortable with the ambiguity of an early-stage startup.

    What You'll Get

    • Real ownership from day one — not busywork — at a fast-growing open-source startup.
    • Direct mentorship from the founding and sales leadership team.
    • Hands-on experience across developer-first B2B SaaS sales, technical content distribution, and open-source community-led growth.
    • A certificate of completion, and a strong shot at a full-time offer for the right person.
