Safety Supervisor

Role & responsibilities

Safety Supervisor: -

1. Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with site safety procedures.
2. Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
3. Ensure workers use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
4. Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions for workers.
5. Monitor high-risk activities, including work at height, excavation, lifting operations, and hot work.
6. Check work permits and ensure required approvals are in place before high-risk activities begin.
7. Report accidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the site management.
8. Assist in accident investigations and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
9. Maintain safety documentation, inspection checklists, incident records, and training records.
10. Ensure proper housekeeping and safe access throughout the construction site.
11. Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, supervisors, and project managers on safety matters.
12. Monitor the availability and condition of fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, and emergency equipment.
13. Support emergency preparedness activities and conduct safety drills as required.
14. Follow up on identified safety violations and ensure corrective actions are completed.
15. Promote a strong safety culture among employees, contractors, and workers.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• A recognized occupational health and safety qualification is preferred.
• Relevant construction site safety experience is preferred.
