Safety Officer

Role & responsibilities

• Supervise daily safety activities at the construction site and ensure compliance with project HSE requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards.
• Ensure workers follow approved safety procedures, work instructions, and safe work practices.
• Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by workers and subcontractors.
• Conduct daily Toolbox Talks, Safety Briefings, and Safety Inductions for workers.
• Assist in conducting Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments, and Method Statement reviews.
• Ensure proper implementation of the Permit to Work (PTW) system for high-risk activities.
• Monitor safety during work at height, scaffolding, excavation, lifting & rigging, hot work, demolition, and concrete work.
• Inspect scaffolds, ladders, working platforms, access routes, and fall-protection systems before use.
• Ensure proper barricading, warning signage, edge protection, and safe access/egress at the worksite.
• Monitor lifting operations and ensure cranes, lifting tools, tackles, slings, and accessories are used safely.
