Job Summary

We are looking for a vigilant and responsible Safety Officer to oversee and implement safety, health, and security protocols across the school campus. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of school safety standards, emergency response procedures, and compliance regulations. This role involves ensuring a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors while promoting a culture of awareness and preparedness in line with the school s values and IB ethos.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the school s safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits of all facilities and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Oversee and maintain all safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, alarms, CCTV, and emergency exits.
• Plan and conduct fire drills, evacuation drills, and emergency response training for staff and students.
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents, or near-miss events, ensuring corrective measures are implemented.
• Collaborate with administration, transport, and facility teams to maintain safety standards across all areas.
• Coordinate with security staff and external agencies to ensure effective campus security management.
• Maintain proper documentation of safety records, inspection reports, and compliance certificates.
• Promote a safety-first culture through awareness campaigns, training sessions, and safety signage.
• Support in planning and executing school events to ensure adherence to safety and crowd management protocols.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor s degree or diploma in Occupational Health Safety, Fire Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Certification in Fire Safety, First Aid, or Emergency Management (preferred).
• 2-4 years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in an educational or institutional setup.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, emergency procedures, and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace / MS Office for reporting and documentation.
