About this role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Manager to lead and manage all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities across our project sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies, ensuring statutory compliance, minimizing workplace risks, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring the highest standards of health and safety throughout project execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory regulations, client requirements, and company safety standards.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and eliminate potential hazards.
- Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements, Risk Assessments (RA), and Safe Work Procedures.
- Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Organize safety induction programs, toolbox talks, emergency drills, and awareness campaigns for employees and contractors.
- Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce safe work practices across all project sites.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives on all HSE-related matters.
- Maintain HSE documentation, statutory records, permits, inspection reports, and compliance registers.
- Ensure emergency response plans, firefighting systems, and first-aid facilities are adequately maintained.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports for management and clients.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety and reduce incidents.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Diploma/PG Diploma in Industrial Safety or equivalent HSE qualification.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in HSE management within construction, infrastructure, EPC, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of safety legislation, risk management, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and emergency preparedness.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and training skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HSE reporting tools.
