Job Title: Store In-Charge

Job Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day store operations at the construction site.
• Receive, inspect, and verify construction materials against purchase orders, delivery challans, and invoices.
• Maintain proper records of materials received, issued, returned, and transferred.
• Issue materials to site teams based on approved material requisitions.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure timely availability of cement, steel, aggregates, pipes, electrical/plumbing materials, tools, consumables, PPE, etc.
• Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile with records.
• Monitor material consumption and identify shortages, excesses, damages, or wastage.
• Ensure proper stacking, storage, identification, and preservation of materials.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Accounts, Project, and Site Engineering teams.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly stock reports and material reconciliation statements.
• Maintain records of non-moving, slow-moving, damaged, and rejected materials.
• Control material wastage and unauthorized issues.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safety within the store area.
• Maintain documentation for audits and management review.
• Supervise Store Assistants, helpers, and other store personnel.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree or relevant qualification preferred.
• Knowledge of construction materials and site inventory management.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and inventory/store software.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and stock records.
• Good coordination and communication skills.

2. Store Assistant Job Description

Job Title: Store Assistant
Department: Stores / Construction
Industry: Civil Construction

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Store In-Charge in daily store operations.
• Receive and unload materials delivered to the construction site.
• Check quantity, packing, and physical condition of materials.
• Assist in preparing Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) and other store documents.
• Arrange and stack materials systematically in designated locations.
• Issue materials to workers and site teams as instructed by the Store In-Charge.
• Maintain material issue and receipt records.
• Assist with daily stock counting and periodic physical verification.
• Identify damaged, expired, or defective materials and report them to the Store In-Charge.
• Maintain proper labeling and identification of materials.
• Keep the store and surrounding area clean and organized.
• Assist in loading, unloading, shifting, and transferring materials when required.
• Maintain records of tools, PPE, consumables, and other site materials.
• Support preparation of daily and monthly stock reports.
• Follow company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10th/12th pass; ITI/Diploma preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in construction/site stores preferred.
• Basic knowledge of construction materials.
• Basic computer/MS Excel knowledge is an advantage.
• Good physical ability for site/store activities.
• Ability to maintain simple records and documentation.
• Good discipline, coordination, and teamwork.
