Safety Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Identify and report potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery and safety equipments.
• Maintain the Safety related documents and participate in the Internal & external audits.
• Prepare Safety Training calender and conduct the Safety training for regular and contract employees as per the plan.
• Facilitate external safety training.
• Improving near miss reporting by creating awareness on safety to the shop floor employees.
• Investigating all the accidents & near miss incidents and follow up on corrective actions with respective departments for action closure.
• Co-ordinating safety committee meeting with Committee Chairman at SMML and participating in SETL safety committee meetings.
• Follow up with cross functional team for closure of observation points found during Safety audits & Safety inspections.
• Coordinate with Competent person and conduct the statuatory related inspections ( Ex:- Safety Harness, Conveyors,etc..) in SMML and ensure 100% Complaince.
• Conduct monthly PPE compliance audit and recommend actions for non-adherence.
• Ensure minimum stock of PPE, display of PPE boards and assesment of machine guarding gas cylinder & storage survey.
• Conduct regular permit to work audit across the shopfloor along with cross functional team and enure 100% permit complaince.
• Inspection of availability of spares for the Fire Fighting Equipments.
• Monitor the Safety related Inspection of wind sack, convex mirrors and safety shower.
• Co-ordinate with OHC for maintenance of First Aid facilities.
• Maintain master list with respect Fire Safety systems.
• Submission of all safety related reports to Safety Head.
• Ensure 100% Complaince of Safety Objective and report if any non complaince to concern team.

Preferred candidate profile

M.E/M.Tech Industrial Safety

Min.4+Yrs experience in industry experience required
