Safety Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections and ensure compliance with project HSE policies, procedures, and applicable statutory requirements.
• Monitor construction, erection, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities from a safety perspective.
• Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment, and Method Statement reviews for critical activities.
• Ensure implementation of Permit to Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities.
• Monitor safety during work at height, scaffolding, lifting & rigging, excavation, hot work, confined space, electrical work, and heavy equipment operations.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Inspect scaffolding, ladders, work platforms, lifelines, safety harnesses, and fall-protection systems before use.
• Ensure proper implementation of Work at Height safety requirements, including anchorage, lifelines, barricading, and fall-arrest systems.
• Monitor electrical safety, including isolation, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), temporary electrical installations, earthing, and safe working practices.
• Monitor lifting operations and ensure proper use of cranes, lifting tools, tackles, and accessories.
