Safety Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Job Description Summary:

We are looking for a qualified and proactive Safety Engineer to ensure a safe and compliant workplace by identifying hazards, implementing effective safety controls, and promoting a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in safety inspections, risk assessment, incident investigation, compliance, and employee safety training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular workplace/site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Prepare and implement Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Monitor PPE usage, work permits, housekeeping, and safe working practices.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and employee safety training.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness, fire safety, and evacuation drills.
• Coordinate with project/site teams to implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Track safety performance indicators and prepare periodic safety reports.
• Stop or escalate unsafe work when necessary to prevent injury or damage.
• Promote continuous improvement in workplace health and safety practices.

Required Qualifications / Experience:

• Diploma/Bachelors degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• 25 years of relevant experience in industrial, construction, manufacturing, or similar environments.
• Good knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation, PPE, work permits, and emergency procedures.
• Strong communication, observation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with site/project teams.
• Experience in architectural or facade lighting projects
