S/4 HANA ABAP Consultants

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced S/4HANA ABAP Consultant with 6-8 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience and strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in at least 2 full-cycle, end-to-end S/4HANA implementation projects, with strong specialization in Core ABAP programming, Fiori application customization, SAP Workflows, and Smart/Adobe Forms development. The role will involve working closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, integration teams, and technical teams to design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable SAP solutions aligned with business requirements. The candidate should have strong experience in RICEF development, ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, AMDP, integrations, enhancements, performance optimization, and S/4HANA best practices. The successful candidate should also have experience in leading or handling a technical team of at least 4-5 members and preferably possess Pharma industry experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in and contribute to end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation, rollout, migration, modernization, and support projects.
• Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain custom ABAP solutions in SAP S/4HANA.
• Develop and maintain RICEF objects including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.
• Demonstrate strong expertise in Core ABAP programming and ABAP Objects.
• Develop solutions using Classes, Interfaces, Function Modules, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, and the Enhancement Framework.
• Work extensively with ABAP on HANA, including CDS Views, AMDP, SQL, and modern S/4HANA development approaches.
• Develop, customize, and support SAP Fiori applications and backend OData services.
• Develop and maintain SAP Workflows based on business requirements.
• Design and develop Smart Forms and Adobe Forms, including enhancements and customizations.
• Develop and support integrations using OData, REST/SOAP APIs, IDocs, RFCs, and Web Services.
• Understand and work with S/4HANA data models and simplification concepts.
• Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, code reviews, and ABAP performance tuning and optimization.
• Ensure all developments follow SAP coding standards, S/4HANA best practices, and Clean Core/extensibility principles.
• Prepare technical specifications, unit test cases, technical documentation, deployment documents, and other project deliverables.
• Coordinate with functional consultants, integration teams, QA teams, and business users throughout development and testing cycles.
• Support SIT, UAT, defect resolution, cutover, go-live, and post-production support activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely and effective technical solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions, solution design, architecture reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead or coordinate a technical team of 4-5 members, providing technical guidance, task allocation, code-review support, and mentoring.
• Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions within agreed timelines and quality standards.

Role Requirements and Qualifications:

• 6-8 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Minimum 2 full-cycle, end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation projects is mandatory.
• Strong specialization in Core ABAP with excellent programming and development skills.
• Strong expertise in ABAP and ABAP Objects.
• Hands-on experience with RICEF development.
• Strong experience in ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, AMDP, and SQL.
• Strong knowledge of BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, Enhancement Framework, Function Modules, and Interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with IDocs, RFCs, OData Services, REST/SOAP APIs, and Web Services.
• Strong experience in SAP Workflows.
• Hands-on experience in Smart Forms and Adobe Forms development.
• Experience in SAP Fiori application customization and backend development.
• Good understanding of S/4HANA data models and simplification concepts.
• Strong debugging, performance optimization, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience working with functional consultants, business stakeholders, QA teams, and integration teams.
• Proven experience in handling or leading a team of at least 4-5 members.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Pharma industry experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP ABAP / SAP S/4HANA certification is preferred.
• Experience in multiple S/4HANA implementation, rollout, migration, or modernization projects.
• Strong exposure to SAP Fiori, OData, and REST APIs.
• Exposure to SAP BTP / SAP Integration Suite.
• Experience with SAP Activate methodology and implementation lifecycle.
• Knowledge of S/4HANA extensibility concepts and Clean Core principles.
• Experience working with global/distributed teams.
• Pharma industry experience, particularly in large-scale SAP transformation or implementation programs.
• Experience in technical solution design and mentoring junior ABAP developers.
• Exposure to modern S/4HANA development standards and performance optimization techniques.
