    About this role

Skynetics Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a skilled and passionate RF Design Engineer to join our R&D team and contribute to the design and development of advanced Electronic Warfare (EW), RF, and defence and aerospace systems. The role offers hands-on experience in developing high-performance RF hardware, from circuit design and PCB development to prototyping, testing, and system integration.

    Key Responsibilities

    • RF Circuit and Subsystem Design: Design, develop, simulate, and validate RF circuits and subsystems, including schematics, component selection, and PCB implementation.
    • Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems: Contribute to RF hardware development for electronic warfare, signal intelligence, jamming, anti-jamming, and other defence applications.
    • RF Data Converters: Work with high-speed RF ADCs and DACs, including interface integration, clocking, sampling considerations, and signal-chain design.
    • RFSoC-Based Systems: Support the development and integration of Xilinx/AMD UltraScale+ RFSoC-based platforms for advanced RF signal processing and software-defined radio applications.
    • Software-Defined Radios (SDRs): Develop and integrate RF front ends and hardware for SDR platforms, including transmit and receive chains.
    • Frequency Synthesis and Conversion: Design and integrate frequency synthesizers, PLLs, local oscillators, frequency upconverters, and downconverters.
    • Power Amplifiers: Design, evaluate, and integrate RF power amplifiers, including impedance matching, gain, output power, linearity, and thermal considerations.
    • RF PCB Design: Support RF PCB layout, impedance-controlled routing, grounding, shielding, stack-up selection, and high-frequency layout best practices.
    • Testing and Debugging: Perform RF bring-up, troubleshooting, characterization, and system-level integration using laboratory instruments.
    • Documentation: Prepare test reports, performance analyses, design documentation, and validation reports.

    Required Skills

    • Strong understanding of RF and microwave engineering fundamentals, including impedance matching, S-parameters, transmission lines, filters, amplifiers, and oscillators.
    • Hands-on experience with RF testing, measurement, debugging, and troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with RF laboratory equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and power meters.
    • Understanding of RF transmit/receive chains, frequency conversion, and RF front-end architectures.
    • Knowledge of PCB design principles, including grounding, impedance control, and RF signal integrity.
    • Ability to analyse circuit performance, interpret measurement results, and troubleshoot hardware independently.
    • EMI/EMC: Electromagnetic compatibility, interference mitigation, shielding, and compliance testing.
    • Defence, Aerospace, and Satellite Communications: Experience with high-reliability RF hardware, satellite communication systems, or mission-critical electronics.

    Preferred / Additional Skills

Experience or exposure in one or more of the following areas will be an advantage:

    • Electronic Warfare (EW): RF jammers, anti-jamming systems, wideband receivers, signal intelligence, and RF threat simulation.
    • High-Speed Data Converters: RF ADCs, DACs, JESD204B/JESD204C interfaces, sampling clocks, and data-converter evaluation platforms.
    • RFSoCs and FPGA-Based Systems: AMD/Xilinx UltraScale+ RFSoCs, FPGA-based digital signal processing, and RF data acquisition and generation.
    • Software-Defined Radio (SDR): SDR architectures, digital upconversion/downconversion, and RF signal processing.
    • Frequency Synthesis: PLLs, VCOs, synthesizers, phase noise, spurious performance, and frequency-hopping architectures.
    • RF Conversion Chains: Mixers, upconverters, downconverters, local oscillators, and intermediate-frequency (IF) stages.
    • RF Power Amplifiers: Solid-state power amplifiers, driver amplifiers, gain stages, output matching, and linearity optimisation.
    • RF Simulation Tools: Keysight ADS, Cadence AWR, Ansys HFSS, CST Studio Suite, or equivalent tools.
    • Antenna Engineering: Antenna design, simulation, matching, and measurement.

    Why Join Skynetics?

    • Work on Advanced Defence Technologies: Contribute to next-generation electronic warfare, RF communication, and aerospace systems.
    • End-to-End Product Development: Gain exposure to the complete development cycle, from RF architecture and circuit design to PCB fabrication, bring-up, testing, and system integration.
    • Cutting-Edge Hardware: Work with RF ADCs/DACs, RFSoCs, SDRs, frequency synthesizers, converters, and power amplifiers.
    • Ownership and Responsibility: Take ownership of real-world engineering challenges and see your designs progress from concept to working hardware.
    • Multidisciplinary R&D: Collaborate with hardware, firmware, FPGA, and systems engineering teams.
    • Career Growth: Develop specialised expertise in high-performance RF engineering for defence and aerospace applications.
    • If you are passionate about RF engineering and want to build advanced technologies for real-world defence and aerospace challenges, we would love to hear from you.
