About this role
Role Description
M. Tech in Mechanical/Metallurgy/ Chemical/Energy with 3 years experience or PhD with experience in iron making area
- Carry out computational research to develop process simulation and control models for iron making process
- Perform heat and material balance calculations for the ironmaking process to assess key performance indicators (KPIs) and energy requirements
- Performing plant trials to generate data, demonstrate research findings etc
- Perform metallurgical process simulations across multiple unit operations and reactors
- Carry out high temperature experiments to validate process models and evaluate to key performance indicators (KPIs) for ironmaking process
- Apply knowledge in metallurgy to build high temperature lab scale/pilot scale experimental setup, specific to slag property measurements
- Perform data-based process modelling of ironmaking operations to quantify and evaluate KPIs.
- Initiate and drive new research projects of R&D
- Develop ideas and concepts to mature technologies to a certain readiness level
- Deliver on technical projects by planning and executing different tasks by leveraging technical skills and implement new product design/process concept in plants
- Contribute in multi-disciplinary discussion to enable team for future advancements
- Takes part in managing different research labs, resources, procurement and safet
