Role & responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, including issuing and returning books.
• Maintain accurate records of books, periodicals, digital resources, and other library materials.
• Organize and classify books and resources systematically for easy accessibility.
• Assist students and teachers in locating appropriate books and learning resources.
• Encourage students to develop regular reading habits and a love for books.
• Plan and conduct engaging library activities, storytelling sessions, reading programs, book reviews, and other reading-related initiatives.
• Recommend age-appropriate books and resources based on students' interests and curriculum requirements.
• Coordinate with teachers to support curriculum-based learning through relevant library resources.
• Ensure the library is clean, organized, welcoming, and conducive to reading and learning.
• Monitor the condition of books and coordinate repairs or replacement of damaged/lost books.
• Maintain an updated inventory and periodically conduct stock verification.
• Introduce students to appropriate digital and online learning resources while promoting responsible usage.
• Support school events, literacy initiatives, exhibitions, and other academic activities as required.
• Ensure adherence to school policies, library guidelines, and child safety practices.
• Maintain discipline and ensure a positive and respectful environment within the library.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidate with B.Lib and M.Lib education
