Rebar Estimator

Job Description

We are hiring experienced Rebar Estimators for a dedicated U.S. rebar fabrication and supply operation. The estimator will review structural and architectural drawings, specifications, addenda and project documents to prepare accurate reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs and estimates.

Responsibilities

• Review structural/architectural drawings, specifications and bid documents.
• Perform detailed rebar quantity takeoffs for commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.
• Calculate reinforcing-steel quantities by bar size, length, weight/tonnage and project area.
• Identify reinforcing requirements for foundations, slabs, walls, columns, beams, elevated structures and specialty structures.
• Review drawing revisions/addenda and identify quantity changes.
• Prepare takeoff summaries and estimating worksheets.
• Identify missing information, drawing conflicts and scope clarifications requiring RFIs.
• Maintain accurate estimate records and revision history.
• Coordinate with senior estimators, checkers and U.S. project teams.
• Meet productivity, accuracy and turnaround-time targets.

Required Skills

• Rebar/reinforcing-steel estimating experience.
• Strong ability to read U.S. structural and architectural drawings.
• Experience with Bluebeam and/or PlanSwift.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Familiarity with ACI, CRSI and ASTM standards.
• Knowledge of rebar sizes, spacing, lap splices, hooks, bends, dowels and reinforcing terminology.
• Strong English communication skills.

Preferred: Experience with Soule, U.S./Canadian rebar fabrication companies, data centers, tilt-up, elevated structures, wastewater or energy projects.
