Rebar Detailer/Checker

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed rebar shop drawings, reinforcement drawings, and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) using CADS RC or Revit Structure in strict accordance with UK and UAE engineering standards.
• Read and interpret structural drawings, architectural layouts, and local project specifications.
• Prepare accurate reinforcement layouts, bar schedules, sections, elevations, and structural detailing.
• Handle UK and UAE-standard rebar detailing projects as per applicable municipality and consultant requirements.
• Work according to BS 8666, BS EN 1992 (Eurocode 2), and relevant UAE detailing guidelines / Dubai Municipality regulations.
• Check bar sizes (H/T designations), spacing, laps, standard shape codes, bob/hook lengths, anchorage, and reinforcement quantities.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, checkers, and site project teams to resolve detailing and Request for Information (RFI) issues.
• Incorporate engineering comments and revise drawings accordingly to secure consultant approval.
• Ensure drawings meet required quality, strict accuracy, and regional project standards.
• Deliver drawings within project schedules and maintain proper revision documentation.
• Perform self-checking of drawings and schedules before submission.
• Support quantity take-off and rebar estimation activities for bidding and procurement when required.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Rebar Detailing and Reinforcement Drawings.
• Proven experience handling UK and/or UAE-based construction projects.
• Deep understanding of BS 8666 (Specification for scheduling, bending, and cutting of reinforcement) and Eurocode 2.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD along with hands-on expertise in CADS RC and/or Revit Structure (3D Rebar Detailing).
• Good understanding of BBS, standard fabric (mesh) notation, and rebar quantity take-off.
• Ability to interpret structural and engineering drawings seamlessly.
• Knowledge of standard UK/UAE reinforcement bar grades (e.g., Grade 500B/500C), standard shape codes, and curtailment practices.
• Good coordination and communication skills to interact with international project teams.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
