React Native (Expo) iOS Developer – Video Editing (AVFoundation)

Job Description We're looking for an experienced React Native/Expo developer to help fix and optimize an iOS video editing feature in our app. The video editing workflow is already working correctly on Android, but we're running into iOS-specific issues. We need someone who understands the iOS media stack and can diagnose, fix, and optimize the implementation.

Responsibilities

• Debug and resolve iOS-specific issues in our React Native (Expo) video editor.
• Work with native iOS video APIs where necessary, particularly AVFoundation.
• Integrate or modify native modules if required.
• Ensure feature parity between Android and iOS.
• Optimize video processing, export, and playback performance.
• Test across multiple iPhone models and iOS versions.
• Document any changes and explain the root cause of issues.

Requirements

• Strong experience with React Native.
• Experience with Expo (including development builds and native modules).
• Solid knowledge of AVFoundation and iOS media processing.
• Experience debugging native iOS issues.
• Proficiency with Xcode and iOS debugging tools.
• Must own or have regular access to a Mac for development.
• Familiarity with video editing workflows (trimming, cropping, compositing, exporting, filters, etc.).
• Experience bridging native Swift/Objective-C code with React Native is a plus.
• Understanding of video codecs, formats, and export pipelines is a plus.

Project Details

• Existing React Native (Expo) application.
• Android implementation is working correctly.
• Primary focus is fixing iOS-specific behavior rather than building the feature from scratch.
• Codebase and issue details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
