React JS Intern

Job Summary

Job title: React JS Intern. Location: Pune. Position Type: Full-time. Experience Level: 0-1 year.

Were looking for a motivated React Developer Intern to join our frontend team. Youll help build responsive, real-time web applications, working closely with senior developers and designers. This is a hands-on role where youll ship real features and learn how production apps are built and maintained.

What youll do

• Build and maintain reusable React components and UI features
• Implement real-time functionality (live updates, notifications, chat) using WebSockets
• Integrate frontend screens with REST APIs using TanStack Query for data fetching, caching, and syncing server state
• Manage application state across components
• Debug issues, fix bugs, and improve performance
• Participate in code reviews and team stand-ups
• Write clean, readable, and well-documented code

What we're looking for

• Solid understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS
• Good knowledge of React fundamentals: functional components, JSX, props and state, and component lifecycle
• Hands-on experience with core hooks such as useState, useEffect, useContext, useRef, and useMemo/useCallback
• Familiarity with React Router for navigation
• Basic understanding of WebSockets: how they differ from HTTP, opening and closing connections, sending and receiving messages, and handling reconnection (experience with Socket.IO or the native WebSocket API is a plus)
• Experience fetching data from APIs (fetch or Axios) and handling loading/error states
• Basic knowledge of Git and GitHub
• Eagerness to learn and take feedback

Nice to have

• Familiarity with TanStack Query (React Query): useQuery and useMutation, query keys, caching and invalidation, and handling loading/error states
• Exposure to a state management library (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or similar)
• Experience with TypeScript
• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS or a component library (MUI, shadcn/ui)
• Basic knowledge of Node.js/Express
