We are seeking a motivated Rating Analyst to join our Large Corporate Ratings team in Mumbai. In this role, you will support the end-to-end credit rating process for India s leading corporates, develop insightful analyses, and interact with senior management and investors. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career finance professionals (1-3 years experience) to deepen their credit expertise within a reputable ratings environment
Responsibilities: - Conduct in-depth credit analysis of large corporate entities, including detailed financial statement review, ratio analysis, and cash-flow modeling.
- Prepare comprehensive rating proposals, credit opinions, and research reports for rating committees and external stakeholders.
- Monitor assigned portfolio companies, track key developments, and recommend rating actions based on evolving business and financial risk profiles.
- Engage with company management, bankers, and investors to gather information, clarify analytical issues, and communicate rating rationales.
- Maintain and enhance sector knowledge-macroeconomic trends, regulatory developments, and industry dynamics affecting credit quality.
- Collaborate with senior analysts in assigning and surveilling ratings, ensuring adherence to internal methodologies and regulatory standards.
- Support the origination team by providing analytical insights during new rating mandates and investor interactions.
- Contribute to process improvements, data automation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the Large Corporate Ratings group.
- Bachelor s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline; CA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent preferred.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience as a Credit Rating Analyst, Credit Analyst, or similar role covering large corporates.
- Strong financial modeling skills and deep understanding of financial statements, cash-flow analysis, and key credit ratios.
- Solid grasp of Indian corporate sectors, macroeconomic drivers, and regulatory landscape.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools; ability to manipulate large data sets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex credit viewpoints clearly to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work accurately under tight timelines; strong analytical rigor, attention to detail, and professional integrity.
- Availability to join within a 3-month notice period and be based in Mumbai.
- Experience working at or with a credit rating agency on large corporate mandates.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CAIA.
- Exposure to sectors like infrastructure, power, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of IFRS/Ind AS and other international accounting frameworks.
- Familiarity with ESG risk assessment frameworks and their integration into credit analysis.
