Radiographer

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a range of general radiographic examinations (e.g., chest, skeletal, abdominal) on infants, children, and adolescents, in accordance with clinical requests and departmental protocols.
• Apply paediatric-appropriate positioning and immobilisation techniques to obtain diagnostic-quality images while minimising radiation dose.
• Accurately label, process, and archive radiographic images in the relevant imaging/PACS system.
• Liaise with radiologists and referring clinicians to clarify clinical indications and promptly flag urgent or abnormal findings.
• Maintain radiographic equipment in good working order, ensuring proper calibration, cleanliness, and infection control standards.
• Apply radiation protection principles for patients, caregivers, and staff at all times.
• Maintain accurate patient records and comply with hospital documentation and reporting standards.
• Support training of junior radiography staff or students, where applicable.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and continuing professional development.

Minimum Qualifications & Education

• Diploma or degree in Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences or a related clinical field.
• Valid registration/licensure with the relevant national health professions body.
• Certification in radiation safety/protection is required, or must be obtained promptly on hire.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 23 years of experience as a practising radiographer, with demonstrable experience imaging paediatric patients.
