Quality Head

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and Metallurgical Laboratory functions across the stainless steel manufacturing plant.

• Ensure quality compliance throughout melting, rolling, wire rod, bright bar, forging quality steel, heat treatment, pickling, finishing, inspection, and dispatch.

• Develop and implement quality systems in line with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, BS4999:2005 customer specifications, and international quality standards.

• Lead metallurgical investigations, chemical analysis, mechanical testing, microstructure analysis, NDT, and failure analysis.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using RCA, CAPA, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 8D methodology.

• Monitor quality KPIs, including PPM, rejection, rework, customer complaints, first-pass yield, process capability, and cost of poor quality (COPQ).

• Handle customer quality audits, third-party inspections, certification audits, and regulatory compliance.

• Collaborate with Production, R&D, Maintenance, Procurement, and Sales to enhance product quality, process capability, and customer satisfaction.

• Lead new product development (NPD), qualification trials, and customer approval processes.

• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing quality teams while fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Desired Profile

• 07-15+ years of experience in stainless steel manufacturing, preferably in bright bars, wire rods, forging quality steel, rolled products, or special steel.

• Strong expertise in metallurgy, stainless steel grades, heat treatment, quality systems, laboratory testing, NDT, and customer quality requirements.

• Hands-on experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, BS4999:2005, and statistical quality tools.

• Proven track record of reducing customer complaints, improving process capability, achieving zero-defect initiatives, and leading quality excellence programs.

• Strong leadership, analytical, decision-making, communication, and team management skills.
