Quality Head - Construction Projects

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Quality Head to lead and independently manage the complete Quality Assurance and Quality Control function for large-scale construction projects across Tamil Nadu.

The candidate should have extensive India-based experience in construction quality management, particularly across High-Rise Buildings, Factory Buildings, Institutional Buildings, Commercial Buildings and major Civil Construction Projects.

The role will be responsible for establishing and implementing robust QA/QC systems while ensuring that all project activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and relevant IS Codes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the complete QA/QC function for assigned construction projects.

- Develop and implement project-specific quality plans, procedures and documentation systems.

- Prepare, review and monitor:

1. Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)

2. Method Statements

3. Material Approval Requests

4. Inspection Requests

5. Testing Procedures

6. Quality Checklists

- Conduct and supervise quality inspections across civil and structural construction activities.

- Ensure quality compliance across:

1. RCC Works

2. Structural Works

3. Concrete Works

4. Masonry Works

5. Finishing Works

6. Waterproofing Works

7. Infrastructure-related Works

- Ensure incoming materials comply with approved specifications and quality standards.

- Coordinate material testing and laboratory testing requirements.

- Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, architects, structural consultants and project execution teams.

- Ensure construction activities comply with relevant IS Codes, specifications, approved drawings and project standards.

- Identify and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.

- Conduct regular quality audits and project quality reviews.

- Maintain complete project quality documentation, records and inspection reports.

- Support project teams in resolving technical and quality-related issues.

- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve construction quality and reduce rework.

- Ensure adherence to approved quality systems throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Experience & Skills:

- Minimum 15 years of experience in Construction Quality Control - Quality Assurance.

- Strong exposure to High-Rise - Factory - Institutional - Commercial Building Projects.

- India-based construction experience is mandatory.

- Strong practical experience in RCC, structural, finishing, waterproofing, masonry and concrete works.

- Thorough understanding of QA/QC Procedures, ITPs, Method Statements, Material Approvals and Inspection Processes.

- Strong knowledge of relevant IS Codes, Construction Specifications and Testing Procedures.

- Experience managing NCRs, corrective actions and project quality documentation.

- Experience coordinating with consultants, architects, clients and project execution teams.

- Experience implementing quality systems for large-scale construction projects will be preferred.

- Strong leadership, communication, coordination and decision-making capabilities.

- Ability to independently manage the complete Quality department.

Education:

B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification preferred.

Additional Requirements:

- Candidate should be willing to work at construction project locations anywhere in Tamil Nadu.

- Candidate should be willing to stay at the project location based on project requirements.

- Complete ownership of the Quality function is expected.
