Quality Engineer

A Quality Engineer for PTMT (Polytetramethylene Terephthalate, or often PTMT/brass plumbing and sanitary fittings/plastic manufacturing) ensures that raw materials, molding/machining processes, and finished products meet strict dimensional, mechanical, and regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities

• Incoming Quality Control (IQC): Inspect raw polymers, masterbatches, brass inserts, or metal components for compliance with specifications. [1, 2]
• In-Process Quality Control (IPQC): Monitor injection molding, extrusion, or machining parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time) to prevent defects like flash, sink marks, or warping.
• Finished Goods Inspection: Check final PTMT products for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, thread integrity, and pressure/leakage resistance.
• Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations using tools like 5-Why or Fishbone diagrams when production rejections or customer complaints occur. [1]
• Compliance & Standards: Maintain documentation for ISO 9001 systems and ensure products meet relevant ISI/BIS or international plumbing/industrial standards. [1, 2]

Requirements & Skills

• Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Plastics, or Production Engineering. [1]
• Experience: 2 to 5 years in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing setup (preferably plastic injection molding, plumbing, or sanitary fittings). [1]
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using measuring instruments (Vernier calipers, micrometer, thread gauges, height gauge) and reading technical drawings.
• Quality Tools: Knowledge of 7 QC tools, Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC). [1, 2]
