Quality Control

Job Summary:

Dhofar Cement Company is looking for an experienced and technically competent Lab Chemist to join our Quality Control Department. The candidate will be responsible for chemical & Xrf testing of cement manufacturing materials and ensuring compliance with applicable quality standards and plant specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Perform chemical analysis of Raw materials, raw meal, Clinker and Cement by using laboratory instruments and standard chemical methods

2) Operate, calibrate and troubleshoot XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) spectrometer, standardization, drift correction and routine instrument checks. Monitor and maintain XRF analytical accuracy and reliability

3) Should have knowledge on physical testing of cement and clinker as per BS EN & IS standards and laboratory procedures.

4) Perform tests such as fineness/Blaine, residue, setting time, soundness, compressive strength, consistency and other relevant physical tests.

5) Maintain laboratory records, Daily testing Data and quality-control documentation.

6) Ensure proper sampling, sample preparation and testing procedures.

7) Identify abnormal test results and immediately communicate quality deviations to the concerned team.

Candidate Requirements:

B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry or Diploma in Cement Technology.

4-5 years previous experience as a Lab Chemist / QC Chemist in a cement manufacturing plant is highly preferred.
