Quality Control Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Quality Control Engineer to ensure that construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. The role involves quality inspections, material testing, concrete quality monitoring, documentation, and coordination with contractors and third-party laboratories.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct quality inspections for structural and civil works as per approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, and Method Statements.
• Inspect incoming construction materials and verify compliance with approved quality standards.
• Perform material tests, including silt content, aggregate gradation, reinforcement bend and re-bend tests, and checks on masonry units, tiles, and finishing materials.
• Conduct pre-concrete inspections covering formwork, reinforcement, levels, plumb, and coordinates.
• Monitor concrete quality, verify mix design compliance, and witness concrete cube testing.
• Ensure proper casting, identification, tracking, and scheduled testing of concrete cubes.
• Verify calibration of inspection instruments and testing equipment.
• Coordinate third-party material testing and review laboratory test reports.
• Maintain inspection reports, test records, and quality documentation.
• Identify non-conformities, recommend corrective actions, and monitor closure.
• Review Method Statements, applicable codes, specifications, and materials proposed for construction.
• Perform quality inspections of MEP installations as per approved drawings and specifications.
• Verify concrete strength test results and ensure compliance with approved procedures before deshuttering.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Experience in quality control for residential, commercial, or high-rise construction projects.
• Knowledge of structural works, concrete technology, reinforcement, formwork, and construction material testing.
• Familiarity with ITPs, Method Statements, QMS, inspection checklists, and quality documentation.
• Experience coordinating with site teams, contractors, and third-party testing laboratories.
• Strong observation, documentation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Exposure to MEP quality inspections will be an added advantage.
