Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer with 1–2 years of experience in both manual and automation testing. In this role, you will work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our applications. You will be responsible for designing and executing test cases, automating test scenarios, validating APIs and UI functionality, and contributing to continuous quality improvements throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual test cases for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
• Create, maintain, and optimize automated test scripts for both API and UI testing.
• Test REST APIs built with FastAPI, including request/response validation, edge case handling, and error scenarios.
• Validate front-end functionality, responsiveness, and UI/UX consistency across our React application.
• Verify caching mechanisms and data flow involving Redis.
• Test email workflows, including notifications, alerts, and transactional emails through SMTP.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects while collaborating with developers to ensure timely resolution.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, testing cycles, and release validation.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform functional and regression testing on AWS-hosted staging and production environments.
• Contribute to improving QA processes, test documentation, and overall product quality.

Required Skills

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance with exposure to both manual and automation testing.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices, including regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and functional testing.
• Experience with at least one automation framework or tool such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, PyTest, or Postman/Newman.
• Practical experience testing RESTful APIs using Postman or similar tools.
• Basic understanding of cloud-hosted applications and AWS environments.
• Familiarity with client-server architecture and the interaction between React front-end applications and FastAPI back-end services.
• Ability to write clear, concise, and detailed bug reports, test plans, and test documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of Redis or similar caching technologies is an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to performance, load, or stress testing tools.
• Basic scripting knowledge in Python or JavaScript.
• Experience testing email delivery, notification systems, and SMTP-based workflows.
