Job Description The QA Engineer 4 for CMS owns the end-to-end QA process for CMS features, releases, and production validation. This role defines test strategies, writes strong test plans and test cases, manages execution through tools such as QATouch, and ensures CMS changes are fully validated before release. The candidate should be able to understand product requirements, technical designs, and engineering tickets early in the process, then convert them into clear test coverage across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, microservices, message queues, integrations, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
CMS Background CMS is an internal platform used to manage content assets, metadata, channels, schedules, EPG data, playlists, and content workflows for a large-scale video streaming service. CMS includes frontend applications, backend microservices, database-driven workflows, message queue integrations, and downstream systems that support scheduling and content delivery.

- Strong ownership of QA process, test planning, execution tracking, and release validation
- Experience using QATouch, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar test management tools
- Strong ability to write clear, complete, and reusable test cases
- Ability to review technical designs, Jira tickets, and acceptance criteria to define test scope early
- Experience testing frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and end-to-end workflows
- Good understanding of microservices architecture, multi-service workflows, and distributed systems
- Experience validating message queue–based flows such as RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub, Kafka, or similar
- Experience testing systems deployed across multiple clusters or environments
- Strong database verification skills, including validating data changes, joins, status updates, and workflow outputs
- Experience with regression, smoke, integration, functional, negative, API, backend, frontend, and end-to-end testing
- Ability to work with automation testers to define automation candidates and test cases
- Strong defect investigation, debugging, documentation, and communication skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with Product, Engineering, QA, and Release teams
Typical Responsibilities
- Own QA planning and execution for CMS features and releases
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, scenarios, and execution reports in QATouch or similar tools
- Review requirements, technical designs, and engineering tickets early to identify risks and test coverage
- Validate CMS workflows across UI, APIs, backend services, databases, message queues, and downstream integrations
- Perform regression, smoke, integration, API, backend, frontend, negative, and end-to-end testing
- Verify database changes and system behavior across CMS services and environments
- Test microservice workflows, including multi-service and multi-cluster interactions
- Track defects, validate fixes, retest issues, and provide release readiness recommendations
- Work with automation engineers to define stable automation test cases and improve regression coverage
- Participate in grooming, design reviews, sprint planning, UAT support, and release readiness discussions
- Publish QA status, risks, blockers, test results, and release recommendations
- Mentor junior QA engineers and help improve team-wide QA standards
Leadership Expectations The QA Engineer 4 acts as a senior QA individual contributor who leads by influence. This role is expected to improve QA maturity, define practical testing standards, identify gaps early, and ensure quality is built into the development process instead of only tested at the end.
