Role & responsibilities

1. API Testing Using Postman

• Execute API requests and validate responses using Postman.
• Verify HTTP status codes, headers, response payloads, and API behavior.
• Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot API-related issues.
• Validate API functionality against defined requirements and expected results.

2. JSON Understanding & Validation

• Read, interpret, and analyze JSON structures.
• Compare actual and expected API responses to identify discrepancies.
• Validate response fields, data types, values, and data consistency.
• Identify missing fields, unexpected values, and inconsistencies in API responses.

3. Software Testing Fundamentals

• Create, review, and execute test cases based on functional requirements.
• Identify, document, and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Understand and apply Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) processes.
• Perform functional testing, regression testing, and negative testing as required.

4. Analytical Skills & Attention to Detail

• Identify inconsistencies, edge cases, and potential failure scenarios.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of application behavior and test results.

5. Test Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare clear, structured, and comprehensive test cases and test scenarios.
• Document defects with detailed descriptions, steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
• Maintain test execution records and communicate testing progress and findings effectively.
• Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to investigate and resolve defects.

6. AI/ML Testing Exposure

• Demonstrate a basic understanding of AI/ML applications and their testing approaches.
• Understand the importance of validating the accuracy, relevance, consistency, and reliability of AI-generated outputs.
• Familiarity with testing Large Language Model (LLM)-based applications and validating generated responses will be an added advantage.

Good-to-Have Skills

1. Performance Testing

• Basic experience with Apache JMeter for performance and load testing.
• Understanding of response time, throughput, and performance bottlenecks.

2. Python Scripting & Test Automation

• Basic proficiency in Python for automating repetitive QA tasks.
• Ability to develop scripts for data validation, response comparison, and test result analysis.
• Familiarity with automating API testing workflows will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals and API testing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Postman and JSON response validation.
• Good analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
• A proactive approach to identifying defects and ensuring software quality.
• Willingness to learn and work with emerging AI/ML-based applications and testing techniques.

Education

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
