QS Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on drawings and specifications
• Competence in Cost estimation, budgeting, and project cost control
• Rate analysis and preparation of cost breakdowns
• Quantity take-off, Measurement and certification of RA bills (Running Account bills)
• Proficiency in quantity take-offs for:

- All types of civil works

- Interior works

- Steel structures

• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing works
• Verify contractor and subcontractor bills
• Prepare variation orders and extra item claims
• Contract administration and compliance with tender & contract terms
• Knowledge of IS codes, specifications, and construction standards
• Monitor project progress vs. cost and report variances
• Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, consultants, and vendors
• Assist in final accounts and project closure

Qualifications

• B.E/B.Tech (Civil) / M.E/M.Tech (Civil) /PG diploma
• Certification or specialization in Quantity Surveying (preferred)
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software (e.g., Primavera, Candy, PlanSwift)
• Negotiation and communication skills
• Commercial and contractual awareness
• Time management and documentation accuracy
