Qlik Platform Administrator

About the Role:

We are looking for a hands-on Qlik Platform Administrator with 3+ years of experience in enterprise data integration, analytics platforms, platform administration, and production support across cloud and on-premises environments.

The candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, security, upgrades, and operational support of Qlik platforms. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in JobServer, Runtime, Qlik Sense, Qlik Cloud, Qlik Management Console (QMC), and NPrinting.

The candidate will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining HA/DR environments, CI/CD pipelines, platform migrations, backup and recovery processes, and automation to ensure highly available, secure, and reliable enterprise data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Qlik Platform Administration

• Install, configure, administer, patch, and upgrade Qlik Sense, Qlik Cloud, and NPrinting environments.
• Administer Qlik Management Console (QMC), including users, roles, permissions, security rules, applications, streams, and content distribution.
• Configure, schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot Qlik reload tasks and data refresh activities.
• Configure and maintain ODBC/OLEDB data connections and validate connectivity with underlying databases.
• Manage Qlik certificates, authentication configurations, and User Directory Connectors (UDC).
• Monitor Qlik services, server health, resource utilization, application availability, and reload performance.
• Perform Qlik backup, restore, migration, environment synchronization, and post-migration validation activities.
• Analyze Qlik logs and troubleshoot application, connectivity, reload, and platform performance issues.

High Availability, Disaster Recovery & Platform Reliability

• Design, implement, and maintain High Availability (HA) configurations for Qlik platforms.
• Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, procedures, and documentation.
• Manage backup and restore processes for critical platform components and configurations.
• Participate in platform migrations, upgrades, and environment modernization initiatives with minimal business disruption.
• Define and execute rollback and recovery procedures for platform changes.
• Monitor platform availability and proactively identify potential reliability and performance issues.

CI/CD & Deployment Automation

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, Nexus, and Artifactory.
• Automate job and application deployments across Development, UAT, and Production environments.
• Manage artifacts, dependencies, repositories, and deployment configurations.
• Integrate Qlik platforms with enterprise DevOps and deployment processes.
• Improve deployment efficiency and reduce manual intervention through automation.

Security & Access Management

• Implement and administer IAM, RBAC, SSO, SCIM, LDAP, OAuth2, and User Directory Connectors.
• Manage user provisioning, authentication, authorization, roles, and permissions across Qlik environments.
• Configure and maintain SSL/TLS certificates and secure platform communication.
• Ensure platform access and configuration align with enterprise security and governance requirements.
• Support audit, compliance, and access-review activities.

Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Production Support

• Monitor platform health, service availability, job execution, application performance, and infrastructure utilization.
• Perform detailed log analysis, incident troubleshooting, performance optimization, and root-cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and coordinate timely resolution with relevant technical teams.
• Develop proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms for critical platform components.
• Create Bash and Python automation scripts for monitoring, alerting, operational activities, and repetitive administrative tasks.
• Support 24x7 production environments and participate in incident and change management processes as required.

Integration & Collaboration

• Integrate Qlik platforms with Kafka, REST APIs, databases, Nexus/Artifactory, and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Database, Network, Application, Security, and Business teams for platform changes and issue resolution.
• Coordinate with vendor/product support teams for critical issues, product defects, and complex technical problems.
• Support application, data, connectivity, and reload validation following platform changes and migrations.

Documentation & Operational Excellence

• Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, operational runbooks, DR documentation, and support processes.
• Document platform architecture, configurations, dependencies, troubleshooting procedures, and recovery processes.
• Define and improve operational standards and platform administration best practices.
• Identify opportunities for automation, performance optimization, and reduction of manual operational activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 3+ years of experience in Qlik platform administration, enterprise data integration, analytics platforms, or production support.
• Strong hands-on experience with JobServer, Runtime, Qlik Sense, Qlik Cloud, QMC, and NPrinting.
• Experience in installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and production support.
• Strong understanding of HA, DR, backup/restore, platform migration, and environment management.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Git, Nexus, and Artifactory for CI/CD and deployment automation.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, RBAC, SSO, SCIM, LDAP, OAuth2, SSL/TLS, and UDC.
• Proficiency in Linux administration, including systemd and HA environments, along with Windows Server administration.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash for automation, monitoring, and operational activities.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Knowledge of SQL, REST APIs, Kafka, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional technical and business teams.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of enterprise platform administration and production operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Qlik certifications such as Qlik Replication & Analytics Integration or related Qlik certifications are preferred.
• Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification is an added advantage.
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate certification is an added advantage.
• Experience working with Azure, AWS, and Qlik Cloud environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments, particularly in BFSI, financial services, and other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based incident, problems, change, and release management processes.
• Experience in developing and maintaining technical documentation, operational runbooks, deployment procedures, and DR documentation.
