Job Summary

As a Software Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through comprehensive test planning, test execution, and defect management. You will work closely with developers and product teams to identify and address potential issues early in the software development lifecycle. You will be expected to write automated tests using Python and the Robot Framework, contribute to test processes, and manage end-to-end testing to ensure our software products deliver the best user experience.

Responsibilities

• Test Planning Strategy:
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test strategies for software applications based on requirements and specifications.
  • Define test cases, test data, and create a clear roadmap for testing activities.
• Automated Testing:
  • Write, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Python and Robot Framework.
  • Design and develop reusable and scalable automated tests for both functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, security).
  • Integrate automated tests with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• End-to-End Testing:
  • Lead and perform end-to-end testing for the entire software product, ensuring that all parts of the system work together as expected.
  • Conduct regression testing, smoke testing, and functional testing across multiple environments.
  • Identify, reproduce, and document defects and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Test Execution Reporting:
  • Execute both manual and automated test cases across various platforms (web, desktop, etc.).
  • Track, report, and prioritize defects and issues found during testing, ensuring proper communication with relevant teams.
  • Ensure thorough test coverage by validating the full functionality of the product, including edge cases.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve the testing process, quality practices, and automation strategies.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to continuously improve testing workflows.
• Collaboration Communication:
  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, review user stories, and ensure proper test coverage.
  • Provide detailed feedback and suggestions to the development team to enhance the quality of the product.

Requirements

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Relevant Experience

• 3-7 years of experience as a Software Quality Engineer or equivalent.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Python programming for test automation and scripting.
• Strong hands-on experience with Robot Framework for automated testing.
• Solid understanding of Test Process and Test Lifecycle (requirement analysis, test planning, test execution, defect management, etc.).
• Experience with end-to-end testing of software applications, ensuring full coverage of all functionality.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and integrating tests into automated pipelines.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git and experience with branching and merging strategies.

Testing Experience

• Strong background in manual testing (functional, regression, smoke, and system testing).
• Experience in automated testing, with a deep understanding of test frameworks and tools.
• Familiar with test case design, test execution, and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
• Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with medical device/biomedical device is a plus.
• Exposure to agile methodologies and familiarity with Agile tools like Jira, Trello, or Asana.
