QA/QC & Billing Engineer (Civil)

About the role

The contractor supplies all material and is paid per square foot of slab area, in stages. The Owner's money is protected in two places — at the gate, where material comes in, and at the bill, where area and stage completion are certified. You own both. Every bag of cement and every bundle of steel is checked before use, every test is recorded, and every running bill is certified against a measurement the contractor has already signed.

What you will do

• Inspect every material delivery at the gate — cement, steel, sand, aggregate, blocks — against brand, grade, certificates and field tests; reject in writing what fails.
• Run the testing regime: cube sampling at every pour, steel samples per 40 T / heat number, sand silt tests, block strength; manage the NABL laboratory and all test registers.
• Prepare the floor-wise slab-area measurement sheet before each slab is cast and get it signed by the contractor; verify built heights afterwards.
• Certify running bills within 4 working days of receipt: joint measurement, stage completion check, retention, hold-backs; give the contractor a written reasons-for-difference note.
• Reconcile steel weekly and cement monthly against drawings and contract assumptions; keep market-price evidence for any escalation claim.
• Maintain the measurement book, material registers and bill files so they stand up to bank, insurer or legal scrutiny.

Must have

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma Civil with 4–7 years, at least 2 in QA/QC or billing / quantity surveying on a building project
• Hands-on with slump, cube casting, silt test and laboratory coordination
• Can prepare a measurement book and compute steel from a bar bending schedule
• Reads drawings well enough to compute slab areas and openings

Strong Excel; clear written records in Hindi or English

Good to have

• Experience on rate-per-sq-ft (slab area) contracts
• Prior work with NABL labs in the Indore / Ujjain region

Hotel or hospital project exposure

Your authority

You can reject material at the gate, order tests, and refuse to certify any quantity or stage that has not been jointly measured or has an open NCR. Payment approval and any change to rates, brands or scope stay with the Owner.
