About this role
We are looking for an experienced QA Lead / Test Lead with 8-12 years of experience in software quality assurance and testing. The candidate will be responsible for leading the QA team, defining testing strategies, managing end-to-end testing activities, ensuring product quality, and coordinating with Development, Business, Product, and Project Management teams.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, API Testing, Database Testing, UAT, Defect Management, Test Automation exposure, and Agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage end-to-end QA and testing activities across multiple releases/projects.
- Define and implement Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and Test Execution Plans.
- Review business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documents to identify testing scope and risks.
- Coordinate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, Project Managers, and other stakeholders.
- Lead the QA team and distribute testing activities based on project requirements and priorities.
- Conduct test case reviews and ensure adequate functional and regression test coverage.
- Perform and oversee Functional, Integration, System, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and UAT testing.
- Experience in API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
- Experience in Database Testing and SQL for data validation and backend verification.
- Manage defects throughout the defect life cycle and ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct defect triage meetings with Development and Business teams.
- Track and report QA metrics such as test execution progress, defect density, defect leakage, test coverage, and quality status.
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and quality gaps and proactively communicate them to stakeholders.
- Prepare daily/weekly QA status reports and provide project-level quality updates.
- Ensure testing is completed within defined timelines and release schedules.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review, and Retrospective.
- Support production releases and perform post-production validation where required.
- Define and continuously improve QA processes, standards, and best practices.
- Mentor junior and senior QA engineers and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Ensure adherence to organizational QA standards, processes, and documentation requirements.
- Identify opportunities for test automation and work with automation teams to improve testing efficiency.
- 8-12 years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
- Strong experience in Manual Testing and QA Lead/Test Lead responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of STLC, SDLC, and Defect Life Cycle.

- Strong SQL and Database Testing skills.
- Hands-on experience with API Testing using Postman/Swagger or equivalent.

- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with test management and reporting tools.
- Exposure to Automation Testing using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar tools will be an advantage.
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps processes is preferred.
- Good understanding of web-based and/or mobile application testing.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of QA engineers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
- Strong ownership and accountability for QA deliverables.
- Ability to work independently and handle tight project deadlines.
- Strong coordination skills with Development, Business, Product, and Project Management teams.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- ISTQB certification will be an added advantage.
- Experience working in enterprise applications, BFSI/Insurance, e-commerce, payments, or other large-scale applications will be preferred.
- Experience in handling multiple releases and managing QA teams is highly desirable.
