    About this role

    Job Summary:
    We are looking for a GCP QA Engineer to support our data lake migration to Google BigQuery and the migration of existing Power BI dashboards and reports to the new data platform. In this role, you will be responsible for validating data accuracy, ensuring consistency between the existing and migrated dashboards, verifying report functionality, and assessing performance after migration. You will work closely with data engineering and BI teams to identify discrepancies, document defects, and ensure a smooth transition to the new platform.

    Key Responsibilities:
    - Validate Power BI dashboards and reports after migration to BigQuery.
    - Perform data reconciliation between the existing data platform and BigQuery to ensure consistency and accuracy.
    - Write and execute SQL queries using T-SQL and BigQuery Standard SQL to validate datasets, aggregations, joins, and business logic.
    - Validate Power BI reports, datasets, DAX calculations, filters, measures, and visualizations.
    - Ensure migrated dashboards display consistent numbers and maintain the same functionality as before migration.
    - Test data pipelines and validate data transformations across ETL/ELT processes.
    - Identify, investigate, and document data mismatches, calculation errors, and report-level defects.
    - Perform regression testing to ensure existing reports continue to function as expected after migration.
    - Validate dashboard performance and report responsiveness after migration.
    - Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, and other stakeholders to resolve defects and ensure data quality.
    - Maintain test cases, reconciliation results, defect logs, and validation documentation.
    - Where applicable, develop automated reconciliation scripts using Python or data-comparison tools.

    Required Skills:
    - 3-5 years of experience in QA, data testing, BI validation, or data reconciliation.
    - Strong SQL skills, including T-SQL and BigQuery Standard SQL.
    - Hands-on experience with Power BI, including reports, DAX, datasets, and Power BI Service.
    - Good understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes.
    - Experience validating data accuracy, aggregations, calculations, and reporting outputs.
    - Ability to compare source and target datasets and identify data discrepancies.
    - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
    - Ability to document defects clearly and communicate findings effectively.
