QA Automation Testing Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities – Automation Tester (Selenium, Jest, JUnit)

1. Define and implement the automation testing approach for web applications, APIs, and microservices.
2. Identify and prioritize test scenarios for automation, focusing on regression, critical business processes, and end-to-end workflows.
3. Estimate automation effort and align testing activities with sprint and release plans.
4. Collaborate with Scrum teams to ensure automation coverage supports business and quality objectives.

1. Develop and maintain reusable automation frameworks using Selenium, JUnit, Jest, Java, and JavaScript.
2. Create reusable test components, utilities, and data-driven automation assets.
3. Implement robust synchronization, exception handling, logging, and recovery mechanisms.
4. Manage automation assets through Git and leverage tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code for productivity.

1. Automate functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test scenarios across applications and services.
2. Develop and execute REST API automation tests to validate business and integration requirements.
3. Validate application behavior across frontend, backend, and microservices architectures.
4. Ensure adequate automation coverage for high-risk and business-critical workflows.

1. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
2. Support test execution in cloud environments using AWS or GCP where applicable.
3. Monitor test execution results and analyze failures to improve automation reliability.
4. Provide clear reporting on test outcomes, quality metrics, and release readiness.

1. Participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
2. Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
3. Perform requirement analysis and identify automation opportunities early in the development lifecycle.
4. Promote quality engineering and shift-left testing practices within the team.

1. Log, track, and manage defects with appropriate evidence and documentation.
2. Analyze test failures and perform root cause analysis to identify application, environment, or automation issues.
3. Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and automated test coverage.
4. Support quality reporting, defect trend analysis, and release sign-off activities.

1. Utilize AI-powered tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot to enhance test development and maintenance.
2. Explore AI-driven testing capabilities to improve automation efficiency and coverage.
3. Identify opportunities for intelligent test generation and test optimization.
4. Stay updated on emerging trends in automation, AI, and quality engineering practices.

1. Maintain and update automation scripts to support application enhancements and changes.
2. Refactor test assets to improve reusability, scalability, and maintainability.
3. Continuously improve automation coverage, execution stability, and testing effectiveness.
4. Track and report automation benefits, including effort savings and coverage improvements.

1. Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
2. Share automation best practices and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
3. Contribute to testing standards, documentation, and framework improvements.
4. Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills while supporting team objectives.
