QA Automation Manager

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Manager to lead our Quality Engineering function, drive test automation strategy, and establish robust evaluation frameworks to ensure product quality, reliability, and performance. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in automation testing, quality assurance processes, test architecture, and evaluation methodologies for complex applications, APIs, and AI-powered systems. The role requires managing QA teams, defining quality metrics, driving automation adoption, and creating evaluation frameworks that measure product effectiveness, accuracy, user experience, and business outcomes.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Quality Strategy and Leadership:

• Define and execute the overall QA and test automation strategy.
• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, automation engineers, and SDETs.
• Establish quality standards, testing best practices, and governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
• Drive shift-left testing and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Test Automation:

• Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and backend applications.
• Increase automation coverage and reduce manual testing effort.
• Implement automated regression, integration, performance, and end-to-end testing.
• Integrate automation suites within CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure automation scripts are maintainable, reusable, and scalable.

Evaluation Framework Development:

• Develop quantitative and qualitative evaluation methodologies.
• Define KPIs, success criteria, and quality benchmarks.
• Create scorecards and evaluation rubrics for functional and non-functional testing.
• Measure product quality through defect trends, automation effectiveness, and customer impact.
• Establish evaluation processes for AI/ML or GenAI applications where applicable.

Quality Metrics and Reporting:

• Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms for quality and release readiness.
• Track and analyze: Defect leakage, automation coverage, test effectiveness, release quality metrics, customer-reported defects, mean time to detect (MTTD), and mean time to resolution (MTTR).
• Present quality insights and recommendations to leadership teams.

Process Improvement:

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across QA processes.
• Identify quality gaps and develop mitigation plans.
• Improve testing efficiency using automation, AI-assisted testing, and modern QA practices.
• Define release quality gates and acceptance criteria.

Risk Management:

• Proactively identify product quality risks.
• Drive root cause analysis for critical production issues.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements where applicable.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software testing and quality engineering.
• 3+ years of experience managing QA or automation teams.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience building enterprise-scale automation frameworks.
• Expertise in evaluation methodologies, metrics, and quality measurement.
