QA Automation Engineer / Automation Test Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automation frameworks (Page Object Model, data-driven, hybrid/BDD)
• Write and execute automated test scripts for UI, API and regression testing
• Perform functional, integration, regression, smoke and sanity testing
• Automate REST API testing and validate responses, status codes and data
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins / GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps)
• Identify, log and track defects in JIRA; work with developers to resolve them
• Review requirements and user stories, and prepare test plans, test scenarios and test cases
• Run backend validation using SQL queries
• Take part in sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives
• Report test results, coverage and quality metrics to stakeholders

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver using Java (or Python)
• Test frameworks: TestNG / JUnit (Java) or PyTest (Python)
• API automation: Rest Assured / Postman / Newman
• BDD: Cucumber with Gherkin
• Build and version control tools: Maven / Gradle, Git
• CI/CD integration: Jenkins or similar
• Good working knowledge of SQL
• Sound understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle and Agile/Scrum
• Defect and test management tools: JIRA, Zephyr / TestRail / qTest
