Marketplacenetwork is a technology team building and maintaining automated data pipelines, web scrapers, marketplace websites, and client automation systems across a range of industries including Australian RV/caravan marketplaces, freight logistics, and e-commerce. Alongside our development work, we run content and SEO programs for our marketplace websites, using AI tools to help plan, draft, and illustrate blog and web content at scale.

About the Role

We're looking for a Python Web Scraping, Data Operations & AI Content Intern to join our team on-site in Erode. Depending on your strengths, you'll work across three areas: building/maintaining Python scraping scripts, running the day-to-day data operations that keep our pipelines and datasets clean and reliable, and/or helping produce SEO content, AI-assisted blog posts, and AI-generated images for our marketplace websites. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants real, production-level experience rather than just theory.

Responsibilities

Web Scraping:

• Write and maintain Python scripts to extract data from websites (Selenium, BeautifulSoup)
• Adapt scrapers when target websites change their layout or structure

Data Operations:

• Monitor scraper and pipeline runs, and flag or fix failures/errors
• Clean, structure, and organize scraped data into spreadsheets and organized files
• Run data quality checks spotting duplicates, missing fields, mismatched formats, and broken records
• Prepare and update data in Excel/Google Sheets for team review and reporting
• Track data volumes and pipeline health, and report issues to the team
• Document scripts, data structures, and processes clearly so the team can rely on them

SEO & AI Content:

• Research keywords and assist with on-page SEO improvements for our marketplace websites
• Draft and refine blog posts and web content using AI writing tools, then edit for accuracy and tone
• Generate supporting images for blog and web content using AI image generation tools
• Proofread and format content before it goes live

What You'll Learn

• Real-world web scraping using Python (Selenium, BeautifulSoup)
• Data operations practices used on live production pipelines monitoring, cleaning, quality control, and reporting
• Workflow automation tools (n8n) and how scraping, data, and content pipelines connect end to end
• Practical on-page SEO techniques and AI-assisted content/image workflows used at scale

Requirements

• Basic working knowledge of Python
• Basic Excel skills (formulas, sorting/filtering, basic data handling)
• Comfortable writing and editing content in English
• Basic understanding of SEO concepts (or willingness to learn quickly)
• Interest in using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, image generators) for content or data work
• Willingness to learn new tools and ask questions
• Comfortable working on-site in Erode for the duration of the internship
• Attention to detail and reliability in completing assigned tasks

Nice to Have (not required)

• Prior exposure to web scraping, data handling, blogging, or content marketing
• Familiarity with Google Sheets, automation tools, or AI writing/image-generation tools
• Basic knowledge of WordPress or similar content management systems

Duration & Compensation

This is a 3-month internship. It is unpaid to start; if the internship goes well and there's a good fit, a performance-based stipend can follow based on your contribution and progress.
