Python Fullstack Developer

Role Focus: Full-stack Python engineering with strong practical use of AI coding tools to accelerate analysis, development, testing, documentation and delivery - while maintaining code quality, security and human review.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Be part of the Operational Excellence team, working on internal operations and client-facing technology projects.
• Design, build, debug and maintain production-ready full-stack applications and automation solutions.
• Work with internal teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Demonstrate strong logical aptitude, independent research capability and structured problem-solving.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation, solution designs, deployment notes and user documentation.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve engineering speed, quality and consistency without compromising security, maintainability or validation.

Experience & Core Requirements

• At least 5+ years of hands-on software development / coding experience, with strong Python and full-stack development expertise.
• Proven experience owning applications from requirement analysis and solution design through development, testing, deployment and production support.
• Ability to review, validate and improve both human-written and AI-generated code before production use.

Backend Development (Python / Django)

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Python, Django and Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Build secure, reliable and efficient RESTful APIs and integrations for web applications and automation workflows.
• Implement business logic, data models, database schemas, authentication, authorization and role-based access control.
• Optimize application performance, API response times and database queries.
• Write modular, reusable, testable and maintainable code following engineering best practices.

Frontend Development

• Develop responsive user interfaces using HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with practical experience in a modern framework such as React, Vue or Angular where applicable.
• Integrate frontend components with backend APIs and handle validation, error states and user workflows.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility, accessibility considerations and mobile responsiveness.
• Improve UI/UX based on user feedback, business needs and design guidelines.

AI-Assisted Software Development - Critical Requirement

• Hands-on ability to use modern AI coding assistants / LLM-based development tools as part of day-to-day engineering work (for example, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor or equivalent enterprise-approved tools).
• Use AI effectively for code generation, refactoring, debugging, root-cause analysis, test-case generation, API integration, SQL/query assistance, documentation and rapid prototyping.
• Write clear prompts and provide the right technical context so AI tools produce useful, maintainable and project-specific outputs.
• Critically review AI-generated code for correctness, architecture, performance, security, edge cases, licensing concerns and maintainability; never treat generated code as automatically production-ready.
• Use AI to accelerate delivery while retaining engineering ownership: understand the code, validate assumptions, run tests and be able to troubleshoot the solution without depending on AI.
• Apply secure AI usage practices: do not expose credentials, client confidential data, production data or restricted source code to unapproved AI services; follow organizational AI/data-governance policies.
• Identify repetitive development activities where AI or automation can reduce manual effort and improve developer productivity.
• Keep up with practical developments in AI-assisted software engineering and evaluate new tools based on measurable engineering value rather than tool familiarity alone.

Database Management

• Design and manage relational databases using PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server or SQLite as appropriate.
• Write optimized SQL queries and use Django ORM effectively.
• Perform database migrations, validation, data integrity checks and performance tuning.

DevOps & Deployment

• Deploy and support Django/Python applications on enterprise servers, VPS/cloud environments or approved internal infrastructure.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing and deployment.
• Use source control (Git) and disciplined branching, pull-request and code-review practices.
• Monitor application health, logs, failures and performance, and support production troubleshooting.

Testing, Debugging & Code Quality

• Write unit tests, integration tests, API tests and appropriate end-to-end tests.
• Debug and resolve application issues efficiently using logs, traces, profiling and structured root-cause analysis.
• Use AI-generated tests or debugging suggestions as accelerators, while independently validating coverage, correctness and edge cases.
• Maintain code quality through reviews, static analysis, linting, dependency management and clear coding standards.

Security & Compliance

• Implement web-application security best practices, including protection against CSRF, XSS, SQL injection, insecure authentication and common OWASP risks.
• Handle sensitive and client data securely and comply with applicable organizational data-protection and information-security standards.
• Protect secrets, API keys and credentials using approved secret-management practices.
• Perform regular dependency/security reviews and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
• Ensure use of AI tools complies with company/client security, confidentiality, intellectual-property and data-handling requirements.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate with product/project managers, business stakeholders, designers, QA and infrastructure teams.
• Participate in code reviews, solution reviews and agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
• Document code, APIs, architecture, deployment procedures and key technical decisions.
• Explain technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor team members and promote responsible, effective use of AI-assisted development practices.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience building solutions that integrate with external APIs, enterprise applications or workflow automation platforms.
• Experience with Docker, cloud services, asynchronous/background processing, caching and observability tools.
• Exposure to LLM APIs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings/vector databases, AI agents or AI-enabled application features is an advantage.
• Experience establishing reusable prompts, coding standards or AI-assisted engineering workflows for development teams is an advantage.

• Ability to understand an existing codebase, debug issues and produce clean, production-quality changes.
• Practical AI-assisted coding capability: how the candidate uses AI to accelerate work, verifies generated output and handles security/privacy constraints.
• Ability to explain the reasoning, trade-offs and architecture behind code - including code initially suggested by an AI tool.
• End-to-end ownership, communication and ability to convert business requirements into working solutions.
