About this role
Purchase Store Manager (Steel Casting Foundry)
We are looking for an experienced and disciplined Purchase and Store In-Charge to independently manage foundry stores, inventory, material receipt, issue, stock records and material traceability . The candidate should preferably have experience in an engineering, machining, fabrication, foundry or heavy manufacturing environment and should be comfortable maintaining both physical inventory and ERP / Computer-based records.

Salary: Rs.30,000 to 50,000/- PM
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure raw materials, fabrication items, mechanical components, electrical items, consumables, and bought-out equipment required for manufacturing operations.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers and perform comparative analysis based on cost, quality, delivery, and technical specifications.
- Generate and process Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with company procurement procedures.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment planning to avoid production delays.
- Maintain vendor database and identify new suppliers for cost optimization and alternate sourcing.
- Verify supplier compliance with technical specifications and quality
- Complete responsibility for day-to-day factory stores.
- Receive and verify incoming materials against PO/challan.
- Coordinate incoming material inspection with Quality.
- Proper identification, tagging, location and storage of materials.
- Maintain records for castings, steel/fabrication material, bought-out components, bearings, pins, bushes, fasteners, consumables, cutting tools, paints and other production items.
- Issue material only against authorised requirements and maintain proper issue records.
- Maintain minimum/reorder levels for critical consumables and regularly alert Purchase before shortages arise.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile differences.
- Submit daily/weekly/monthly stores MIS as prescribed.
- Understand GRN, material receipt, issue, return, stock transfer, challans and inventory reconciliation.
- Understand engineering components and preferably be able to read basic material descriptions/specifications.
