Job Summary

The Purchase Assistant – Electrical & Plumbing Procurement is responsible for supporting the procurement of electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and MEP materials required for construction projects. The role involves vendor coordination, quotation analysis, purchase order processing, inventory monitoring, and ERP-based procurement activities to ensure timely and cost-effective material availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing and purchasing electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and MEP materials for ongoing projects.
• Prepare and process Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Purchase Orders (POs), and Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs).
• Obtain quotations from multiple vendors and prepare comparative statements for management approval.
• Coordinate with project, site, stores, and engineering teams to understand material requirements and delivery schedules.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve procurement-related issues.
• Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase documentation in the ERP system.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores to prevent stock shortages and excess inventory.
• Verify material specifications, quantities, and quality requirements before placing orders.
• Assist in vendor identification, registration, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
• Coordinate with accounts for invoice verification and payment processing.
• Track market prices and supplier trends to support cost optimization initiatives.
• Prepare procurement reports, MIS reports, and purchase status updates.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and project requirements.
• Support annual rate contracts and framework agreements with key suppliers.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in procurement of electrical, plumbing, MEP, or construction materials.
• Experience in vendor coordination and purchase operations.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of electrical and plumbing materials used in construction projects.
• Proficiency in ERP systems.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and procurement documentation.
• Understanding of inventory management and material planning.
• Ability to prepare comparative statements and procurement reports.
