Purchase Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day procurement and purchasing activities.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors.
• Obtain and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
• Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders (POs), and related documentation.
• Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Coordinate with internal departments to understand purchase requirements.
• Maintain vendor databases, procurement records, and purchase reports.
• Monitor inventory requirements and avoid delays due to material shortages.
• Verify invoices, delivery challans, and purchase-related documents.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

Required Skills

• Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Knowledge of purchase orders, quotations, invoices, and procurement documentation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• SAP is preferred.
