Purchase Manager

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager with strong expertise in the steel industry, specifically in Flat Steel Products. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in steel purchasing/procurement and strong knowledge of steel suppliers, market pricing, negotiations, and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of Flat Steel Products and related steel materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable steel suppliers across domestic markets.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
• Monitor steel market prices, trends, availability, and supply conditions.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials as per business requirements.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Logistics teams for smooth order execution.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and develop new vendor networks.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, delivery, and service.
• Handle purchase orders, quotations, commercial negotiations, and procurement documentation.
• Ensure procurement is aligned with quality specifications and customer requirements.
• Source and procure HR Coils, HR Sheets, Cold Rolled (CR) Coils, CR Sheets, GI Sheets, GA Sheets, and Electro-Galvanized Steel (EGS).
• Compare supplier quotations and material specifications, including grade, thickness, width, coating, quantity, and delivery requirements.

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Steel Purchase/Procurement.
• Mandatory hands-on experience in purchasing/procurement of Flat Steel Products.
• Must have direct experience with HR Coils, HR Sheets, Cold Rolled (CR) Coils, CR Sheets, GI Sheets, GA Sheets, and Electro-Galvanized Steel (EGS).
• Strong understanding of the steel market, suppliers, pricing, and procurement practices. • Experience in supplier negotiations, vendor development, and commercial evaluation.
• Working knowledge of flat steel grades, dimensions, thickness, coating specifications, and material quality requirements.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 8+ years of experience in Steel Purchase/Procurement, with strong exposure to Flat Steel Products.
• Existing network of steel manufacturers, service centres, distributors, traders, and suppliers will be an advantage.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and market intelligence skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced procurement environment.
