is responsible for procuring the right packaging materials, machinery, consumables, and services at the right cost, quality, and delivery time. The main objective is to ensure that steel products are packed safely for storage, handling, and transportation while minimizing packaging costs and preventing damage, corrosion, and customer complaints.

The Purchase Manager works closely with:

• Production: Packaging requirements and production schedules.
• Quality Assurance: Material inspection and supplier approvals.
• Stores: Inventory levels, GRN, and stock reconciliation.
• Dispatch and Logistics: Packaging standards and shipment schedules.
• Finance and Accounts: Invoice verification, payment terms, and budget control.
• Engineering and Maintenance: Procurement of packing machines, tools, spares, and consumables.
• Sales and Customer Service: Customer-specific packaging specifications and complaint resolution.

Packaging development for steel products

• Verify material specifications, thickness, GSM, width, tensile strength, and other applicable parameters.
• Check VCI and rust-prevention materials for suitability, compatibility, and protective performance.
• Arrange samples and trials before approving new packaging materials.
