Purchase Manager

Role & responsibilities :

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for construction projects - cement, steel, MEP materials, finishing materials, etc.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors / suppliers with best price, quality & delivery.
• Negotiate contracts, rates, and payment terms to achieve cost optimization.
• Prepare purchase orders, track material deliveries, and ensure timely availability at sites.
• Coordinate with Project, Planning, Stores, Accounts & Site teams for material requirement planning.
• Maintain stock levels, avoid over-purchasing and minimize wastage.
• Conduct market research and maintain price database for all construction materials.
• Ensure quality compliance and handle vendor billing & reconciliation with Accounts.
• Prepare MIS reports on purchases, cost savings, and vendor performance.

Location: Porur, Chennai (On-site)

Experience: 5+ Years

Industry Preference: Real Estate / Construction

Qualification: Any Degree

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 Years of experience as Purchase Manager / Assistant Manager - Purchase in Real Estate / Construction industry is MANDATORY.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, specifications, and market rates in Chennai.
• Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP / Tally, and purchase documentation.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
• Must be based in Chennai and available for immediate joining preferred.
