About this role
We are looking for a **Purchase Manager with a minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing procurement**. The ideal candidate should have strong vendor-management and negotiation skills, good knowledge of **Tally and MS Excel**, and practical experience in purchasing engineering components, raw materials, and bought-out items.
The person will be responsible for managing the complete purchase cycle from purchase requisition and vendor identification to quotation comparison, negotiation, purchase orders, follow-up, and material delivery.
--Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day **purchase and procurement activities** for manufacturing requirements.
* Source raw materials, engineering components, bought-out items, consumables, and other production-related materials.
* Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
* Obtain and compare quotations based on **price, quality, delivery, and payment terms**.
* Negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing and favourable commercial terms.
* Prepare and release **Purchase Orders (POs)** and ensure timely delivery.
* Follow up with vendors regularly to ensure materials are delivered as per production schedules.
* Coordinate with **Production, Stores, Design/Engineering, Accounts, and Management** regarding material requirements.
* Monitor pending purchase orders and maintain proper follow-up records.
* Handle vendor-related issues concerning quality, delivery, quantity, and commercial terms.
* Maintain purchase records and vendor documentation in **Tally and Excel**.
* Support inventory and stock planning by coordinating with stores and production teams.
* Develop and maintain a database of suppliers, prices, lead times, and purchase history.
* Analyse purchase costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
* Ensure purchases are made as per approved specifications and requirements.
* Assist management in developing long-term supplier relationships and improving the procurement process.Role & responsibilities
