Job Description:-

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Purchase Executive to manage procurement activities for our boat manufacturing company. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, chemicals, metals, hardware, and other components required for boat manufacturing. The ideal candidate should have experience in vendor management, price negotiation, material planning, and timely procurement to ensure smooth production operations.

Key Responsibilities:-

1. Handle procurement of materials required for boat manufacturing, including:

a) Metals: Stainless Steel (SS), Mild Steel (MS), aluminium sheets, plates, pipes, sections, and other metal components.

b) Hardware: Nuts, bolts, screws, washers, fasteners, hinges, clamps, and other hardware items.

c) Chemicals & Consumables: Resin, hardeners, adhesives, sealants, paints, coatings, solvents, and other manufacturing chemicals.

d) Other Materials: Fabrication materials, marine components, tools, safety items, and general production consumables.

2. Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.

3. Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate rates, and finalize purchase orders.

4. Ensure timely procurement of materials according to production and project requirements.

5. Coordinate with production, stores, accounts, and other departments to understand material requirements.

6. Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve delays or shortages.

7. Maintain purchase orders, quotations, invoices, delivery records, and vendor databases.

8. Verify material specifications, quantities, and quality against purchase requirements.

9. Coordinate with suppliers to resolve material quality issues, damaged goods, or incorrect deliveries.

10. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the stores team to prevent material shortages and production delays.

11. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the required quality standards.

Required Skills:-

1. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing company.

2. Knowledge of SS, MS, aluminium, chemicals, hardware, fasteners, and industrial consumables.

3. Experience in vendor development, quotation comparison, and price negotiation.

4. Good understanding of purchase orders, inventory coordination, and material planning.

5. Proficiency in MS Excel and basic computer applications.

6. Strong communication, negotiation, coordination, and follow-up skills.

Educational Qualification:

Diploma or Graduate in Mechanical Engineering, B.Com, BBA, Supply Chain Management, or any other relevant field.

Preferred Experience :-

Candidates with experience in boat manufacturing, marine industry, fabrication, engineering, automotive, or other manufacturing industries will be preferred.
